Fairmas hotel report: April 2013
Hotel performance March 2013 in comparison to previous year
The different scheduling of the school holidays this year, along with the fact that Easter fell in the last week of March led to weaker performances in some destinations last month. Besides this, there were fewer short-term bookings due to this year’s poor weather conditions, while the airport strikes also led to flights being called off and thus to short-term cancellations and no-shows at a few destinations (see Dresden, Hamburg, and Cologne/Bonn), which had an effect on these cities’ overall performance.
The overcapacity in the market and the continuing rise in competitive pressure provide us with one topical reason to present the new Hotel Benchmarking System from Fairmas in our latest Main Topic: “How many beds can Germany withstand?” Or: “Why some hoteliers make better decisions”. The next generation of the Fairmas Hotel Benchmarking System has been available since March 2. 2013. It offers extended reports, key figures, and functions, and so provides even more detailed market information to help make that decisive step.
